Friends of Carden
The primary purpose of Friends of Carden (FOC) is to build and foster a community among the parents, staff, and students. By organizing schoolwide events and campaigns, we hope to promote friendship and synergy as we all work towards a successful school experience for everyone involved. In addition, FOC fundraises to cover items and events that fall outside the realm of expenses that are covered by annual tuition. The monies raised are used to enrich the technology, athletics, and academic programs.
FOC consists entirely of parent volunteers that have students currently enrolled in Carden Academy. The scheduling of events and distribution of funds are coordinated by the FOC Board of Directors, who are also parent volunteers, that work closely with the school administrators to achieve common goals. These goals are accomplished through the tireless efforts of the larger community of Carden families - people like you!
In 2005, Friends of Carden was authorized as a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) with the purpose of providing an avenue for friends, family, and alumni to make tax-deductible donations to the school.
Recent items funded by FOC initiatives include:
- science lab tables
- computer lab PC's and monitors
- lockers
- picnic tables
- P.E. equipment including balls and jumpropes
- iPads
- Apple TV's
We encourage all parents to get involved and find an area that interests them to share their talents and energy. We also welcome new ideas for events and purchases that enrich the lives of all in the Carden family!
